Galadriel had walked for hours, and as the sun began to fall below the treetops she had finally sank to the forest floor. Then she had screamed. She had screamed for what felt like forever, tears streaming down her face, wrapping her arms around herself, fingernails biting into her palms until they bled. She had screamed until her throat was raw and her voice left her. Then she'd leaned back against an old tree and gasped for air, body wracked with silent sobs.
Her shoulders were still shaking as she'd taken her waterskin and poured it into her palm over the ring, rubbing the silver with her sleeve. It was clean now. But nothing could wash away the past days' horrors.The aftermath of the Second Kinslaying brings forward issues Galadriel and Celeborn thought they had moved past.
