Timeline: Somewhere in the future, where Eggman is much less hostile (to the point of him not caring about ruling the world anymore, and instead focusing on his created family), and everyone is older. No large, looming threats have happened in a while, that is, until a very peculiar creature crawls out of the shadows to satiate their taste in what they enjoy.

Summary
An AU and fic inspired by the song “I Wanna Be A Machine” by The Living Tombstone.
Summary: It’d been a long day for Sonic, smashing Dr. Robotniks robots and saving the animals that had been trapped inside them. After finding a weird glowing rock that had crashed onto the planet, Eggman had brought Metal Sonic and some other robots to retrieve the gem as well, something happened when Sonic and his metallic mirror-self grabbed it at the same time.
In this AU, Sonic had been Jealous of Metal for unknown reasons - none of his friends knew of this. (Tails has suspected something about how Sonic had always looked at Metal a little too long, but never figured it out.)
