    Part Three of my series "Fate As It May Be; The Story of Diana Bishop and Matthew De Clairmont". A different way that I would have like to see events unfold between Diana and Matthew. Pulling from the trilogy as well as the show.

    Chapter One; Let Me In Where Only Your Thoughts Have Been, Let Me Occupy Your Mind As You Do Mine; Diana and Matthew make it back to the year 1590, but not exactly where they expected to land. To make matters worse, they don't exactly get off on the right footing. Diana is quick to make an ally, an enemy and see a surprising face all in the matter of hours on her first night. This leads to a heated confrontation between her and Matthew. However, they can't truly be angry with one another for too long.

    "I’m going to marry you," I murmur, my voice catching slightly against the soft cotton of his sweatshirt.
    Conrad instantly freezes. His body, which had been so relaxed against mine, goes rigid. Then, slowly, deliberately, he turns in my embrace, maneuvering his body without breaking the circle of my arms around his waist.
    His eyes are on mine, and I see a storm brewing there–a mixture of overwhelming awe, profound softness, and an almost painful rush of love. It’s the look he usually reserves for moments when he thinks I’m not watching.
    "Say it again," he commands, the sound rough and low.
    "I'm going to marry you, Conrad. I'm going to be your wife."
    The storm in his eyes intensifies, swirling with that complex love, the breathtaking wonder, and a definite, deepening possessiveness. His grip on my waist tightens, digging the pads of his fingers into the soft skin above my jeans.
    "My wife," he repeats, the word a reverent vow, testing the shape of it on his tongue. Then his eyes go dark, the softness hardening into a focused, hungry demand.
    "Your wife," I confirm.

    “Effect on people? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

    “Yeah…” Conrad says, his eyes as soft as his voice, “...you do.” He meets my gaze, and I hold his. The air around us seems to disappear and I find myself taking a deeper breath, willing the air to fill my lungs and calm my heart, which was threatening to leap out of my chest.

    OR, a partial rewrite of Season 1, inspired by Coldplay's 'Sparks' - what if Belly and Conrad had kissed the night of the 4th of July? What if there wasn't so much miscommunication between them?

    From both Belly and Conrad's POV, and will be mostly canon-ish.
