    It's 1916 and Hob Gadling, while serving with the Canadian Infantry, ends up on the wrong end of a rather vicious curse. One that will cause flowers to grow inside his lungs unless he obtains a confession of love from his most beloved.

    Too bad the last time he saw that person was in 1889, when his Stranger walked out into the rain. And that had been because Hob had dared to call them friends.

    Hob's certain he'll be alright though. He's resilient, smart, and stupidly stubborn. He'll figure out a way out of this mess.

    (Even if he has to use a bit of magic to do so).
