Chihiro has often wondered at the world of the bathhouse. "The world of the spirits," Sen whispers. Does it overlay her world, like the old legends, like Neverwhere? Will she meet a ghost on a lonely road or turn sideways in a mundane instant and fall into that world of terror, mystery, adventure (love)? Or is it like the tales in the Langs’ Fairy Books, another world entirely, with limited doors and different kingdoms and geography, a parallel but separate space?
Sen knows the answer. She also knows it doesn’t matter.
