First impressions where very important to Calum T. Hood and a key thing in his life. At most conclusions of meeting new people he was almost, always complimented with a, “It was very nice meeting you.” or a “You're funny, we should really get a bite to eat later.” Those remarks were the norm for him.
So when a total stranger tells him,“You're a dick, dude.” without Calum having uttered a single word to them, it was a slap to his face and a punch to his gut.au- it takes Calum approximately 8 positive interactions to fix a bad first impression.

Calum thought it was worth a lot to do this for Michael.
Every time he hit himself he would whisper "worth it" when he saw Michael's cute nose scrunched up. A crack in his voice made Michael's eyes squeeze shut with tears coming out of the corners. A specific lyric emphasised directly at Michael made his red lips stretch into a beautiful smile echoing laughter, and hands clutching at his stomach from muscle spasms. A glimpse into the happy go lucky person his boyfriend regularly is made it all.
Totally worth it.

Oh well, one day he'll get to finish completing his sentences before she ends up cutting him off.

“I can feel you looking at me,” the guy said, confusing Calum.
“Feel?” Calum asked.
“Uh, yeah dude, I’m blind if you hadn’t noticed. I’ve gotten used to the feeling of someone else’s eyes on me.” Everything that Calum was seeing clicked into place. The dog, the sunglasses, the statement; it all made sense.
“Shit, sorry, I dropped out of high school and, yeah, it shows,” Calum rambled with an awkward chuckle at the end.
