Daniil would consider himself a worldly and experienced man, but one thing he doesn't have experience with is all the intricate rituals that come with pursuing a man for more than a tumble in the sack. He asks for a trustworthy acquaintance's advice and starts devising a plan on how woo the object of his affections.

"Suddenly, Hans straightens up and grabs Henry's hand on his shoulder and throws it off of him so he can turn over and face him. He then grips Henry's shoulder tightly.
“But more than anything, I can't get the way your face looked out of my head, desperate like a caged beast. You did everything you could to save me and yet it was all almost too late.”
He grabs Hans’ wrist, the one with a death grip on his shoulder. “If Von Bergow hadn't showed up, I would have found another way! I could have rushed the executioner! I would have done something! I would have saved you because I will *always* save you.'"
After Hans nearly swings for poaching in Trosky, Henry can't stop himself from confessing the depth of devotion to his lord.

Artemy Burakh has had enough of Daniil Dankovsky traipsing about town, sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong and shirking his duties as a doctor. And when he is summoned by the oh-so venerable bachelor to the Stillwater, he takes the opportunity to remind him of the Hippocratic Oath and put the smug capital dandy in his place.

The bachelor arrives at the haruspex's lair distraught after Eva's death and the haruspex seeks distract him by enlisting him as his assistant for the night. Perhaps that's' not the only distraction he will find this night.

Andrei and Peter flake on meeting Daniil at the station and Daniil is absolutely furious. Andrei offers to make it up to him. Simple as.

"He raises his hand and Stakh instinctively leans down in order for Dankovsky to caress his cheek. “You do remember what we've discussed, correct?” he says. Stakh hesitates a moment before saying “yes”. In response, the bachelor simply quirks up an eyebrow at him. Stakh quickly corrects himself “Yes, master”.“ Good” Dankovsky says, as he gently strokes the side of Stakh’s face again and Stakh can't help but lean into his touch like a cat. Dankovsky then pulls back his gloved hand and steps away from him."
Dankovsky and Rubin further explore and indulge Rubin's service and praise kink.

Sure she is ready to leave with him because of the sand pest but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
