Rei’s breathing stutters. Touya hasn’t called her mama since his quirk came in and he had to start being big. She forgets, sometimes, that he’s not all that grown, though he’s very good at pretending to be. Rei inhales, sharp. The bedroom smells stale; there’s the stench of something acrid like bile beneath it all, poorly disguised by the scent of the garden carried in by the breeze.
“Oh, Touya,” she says, that tight knot of frustration in her chest unraveling itself in a dizzying rush. Her knees ache when she stands; the hem of her nightgown tickles her ankles.

Summary
