“Peter?! Where are you kid?” Tony frantically called out as he crashed open the guest room door, almost knocking it off its hinges.
“I’m here Mr Stark…”
The kid’s voice was so timid and weak that Tony just wanted to pick him up, hold him as tightly as he could and never let go.
Only, he couldn’t do that. It was inappropriate for their professional relationship.
“Kiddo…” Tony sighed, crouching down and finally meeting eyes with Peter on the bathroom floor...
A boss could hug his employees every so often right?

Summary
Peter closed his eyes and tried to remember...
He remembered lying back, with his head resting on his dad’s lap at the piano, just like he always did.
Except this time when Peter looked up at him, opening his eyes, they were amongst the clouds.
Tony was wearing white, his hair full and thick, not a spot of grey in sight. He looked at peace with angelic white wings and that same familiar, heartwarming smile.
Tony was here and he was okay…
The sight was enough to make Peter’s eyes water. Just as he did, his father figure gently hushed him comfortingly and began to sing and play the piano softly, the same words as always:

A deafening crash echoed through the ballroom as glass shattered into a million shards, scattering across the floor. The sound was met with a chorus of terrified screams from the attendees.
Peter and Tony looked at each other knowingly.
“Oh kid… please don’t tell me you’re about to undo that perfect tie I made for you…”
Peter sighed and looked down to his fancy tuxedo, suddenly brave-
“I’m sorry Mr Stark,” Peter sighed sympathetically, before he hurriedly undid the neatly folded piece of fabric from around his neck and tossed it aside. Tony rolled his eyes as the kid pulled apart his buttons and revealed his bright red spandex suit and spider emblem underneath-
“You brought your underoos.“ Tony breathed in heavily and sighed, much to everyone’s confusion. “I told you not to!“
