Summary
Klavier and Eustace were high school sweethearts, finding true solace in each other. However, it couldn't last as every force seemed to be trying to tear them apart, until they couldn't find a way to hold on.
As years went by, they never thought they'd see each other again; lo and behold, they somehow ended up in the same office.

Summary
"No, K-Kay, you're different!" Eustace bursts, control now utterly out the window. He fumbles with shaky, gloved hands, his shoulders hunch, tears and snot flow freely. There is nothing more that he seems to long for more than to utterly disappear. It is a complete collapse of himself. "You're- you're good, at being the great thief, at being nice to people, a-at smiling, and those are generally! All good and desirable things!"
"Uhm." Well he is right. Kay is all of those things- and proud of it, too! "Okay, but-"
"But who would ever want to be me?"
