Firstly, it’s three am and my brain has no interest in adding in additional punctuation to this, so if it starts to read weird; my apologies .
Though the story is quite interesting and extremely well written, it seems that a non offensive and; frankly silly opinion on my part, on the authors real life views on a public figure has made the author block me from commenting.Which is honestly quite strange to me as I’ve never encountered such a situation. I’m from South Africa btw, so anyone who lies about being compared to former President Nelson Mandela is obviously going to be Public Enemy #1.
That was the gist of my comment including how I would just not venture to the Author’s Notes section, since that is where it would be explained that certain situations, outfits, etc, were based on this public figure and I don’t really know all that much about this public figure outside of her stints in my country. So it was just a distraction to the novel for me, but one easily avoided.
It seems the author is a major fan of this person so I am not particularly bothered that she would like to defend her celebrity idol, but I am bothered by the implication that my comment was egregious enough to warrant banning me from commenting on it.
I guess read it because it truly is a Fantastic read and I enjoy it still despite this small quarrel. However; at your own risk, don’t comment on the public figure this author is a fan of. I didn’t even think it would escalate to this level where my first book mark on here is to explain to the author no harm was meant and no emotions need be wasted on misunderstandings.Apologies and sorry if I offended you!
