“Clarke Griffin,” Bellamy grins, “Did you streak naked down the street once, for Truth or Dare?”
“I was thirteen, and in my underwear,” she says primly, and he laughs loud enough to shake her, where she’s pressed up against his chest. His hand is warm on the space where her hip meets her thigh, and he slides his thumb under her shirt, to stroke at the skin there.
“Alright, I’ll bite,” he decides, setting his beer down again so she’ll know he’s serious. “Truth or Dare?”
Clarke pretends to think about it for a moment, even though she always picks the same thing. “Dare.”
Bellamy grins, delighted, like that’s what he’d been planning for all along. He’ll probably just have her streak naked down the street, because once again, the dares are always expected.
But instead he says “I dare you to kiss me.”

The pictures are from that morning, of him and Clarke going into the diner, and a few of them grinning over their food, and then one that’s taken from the side during the goodbye kiss, so it looks a lot less platonic than it was. They look like they woke up together and got breakfast after a late night, which, to be fair, is exactly what happened. He wishes pap photos came with more context.
“We passed out at Monty and Jasper’s after the party,” he explains, reaching for his own phone, because it’s weird that Monroe hasn’t called him about the pictures yet. She should be having a panic attack right about now.
Apparently last-night Bellamy had the foresight to turn his phone on silent, because when he unlocks his screen, the whole thing lights up like a Christmas show, with no less than twelve missed calls from Monroe before she just started shooting rapid fire text messages like a digital AK-47, keeping time with her pulse.
The last few just say DEFCON ONE over and over, with pictures of a Kermit puppet that somebody set on fire.

That same, elusive shrug. “It’s a secret, princess.” He says pointedly, snagging the book from her before throwing the truck into park, “But you’ll be the first to read it once it’s done, okay?”
“Wow,” she says, nodding. “I’m honored.”
A beat as he sizes her up, his brows furrowing together in exasperation before he says, weary, “You’re going to ask me what it’s about again, aren’t you?”
“Bellamy,” she says obediently, grinning, “what’s your book about?”
If you told Clarke Griffin that she would become best friends with the resident black sheep of Arkadia, she would have difficulty believing it, let alone the fact that he apparently wrote an entire book about her.
(Or: Clarke and Bellamy through the years, as childhood best friends.)
