Summary
No one ever teaches the denizens of the deep to fear the dark. Instead, they learn to fear the surface dwellers and to mistrust the dry and desiccating world they live in. The surface societies continue to explore deeper, but the ocean is a large place. Avoiding them is easy.
When his twin is trapped, however, and a surface exploration outpost is implicated, Fai finds himself infiltrating their vessel. Isolated and in a truly alien environment, he can only hope that he remains undiscovered.

Long-lost friends manage to unintentionally move in next to each other and slowly realize they have a shared history? Sounds an awful lot like something off of Kakashi’s bookshelf. With the ninken woefully unaware of how human relationships actually work – all of their education comes from Kakashi’s books – their schemes to get Kakashi and Iruka to recognize each other are not so successful.

Kakashi's choices were usually somewhere between a rock and a hard place. This time is no different: lose his magic entirely or send it to the only available option. It wasn't actually all that difficult a decision, but the ramifications of foisting his magic off on Iruka might be more costly than he'd originally thought.
