Summary
Pillai is the most serene place in the world. Julian never wants to leave. An invasion of monsters threatens that serenity, though, and when the city's ruling council becomes gridlocked while the guards die night after night, Julian makes plans.
They're terrible plans, really, and it's a wonder he gets anyone to agree to them. Without the backing of the council, Julian assembles a group of young warriors to deal with the monster horde. And of course, because things are never easy, the horde becomes the least of their worries.

Summary
Jack is bleeding, although that’s to be expected. One nasty scrape on his cheek bled all over the fucking place, and thankfully it doesn’t look deep. His left arm is bent at an odd angle in several places, but his other arm and his legs look alright other than a deep cut on one thigh. Gabriel goes to tear a piece of Jack’s already-destroyed coat off to use as a bandage when he realizes something isn’t right.
Jack isn’t breathing.

Jack and Gabriel have been sleeping apart for months now, mutual frustration over work boiling over into their personal life. After arguing horridly three nights in a row, Gabriel stormed back to his own room, and things have been miserable since. Overwatch's leadership needs to be united and strong in the face of a Second Crisis, but Gabriel doesn't know how to even begin to bridge the gap between him and Jack.
Funny how the smallest thing can pave the way to fixing even the biggest problems.

Jesse hasn’t had a good meal in a long time.
That’s not to say that he hasn’t eaten well or enough. Overwatch feeds him three times a day, and the food is good enough to put fat on his ribs and keep his stomach from grumbling. He has access to coffee every morning, vegetables and fruit at all three meals, and seasonal foods around holidays.
But the food in Zurich is a far cry from the food in Texas where he grew up. He misses beans, and tortilla chips with queso, chili and cornbread, good barbecue, and food with actual spice in it. Overwatch has kept him well fed, but he hasn’t been able to cook for himself, and he sure hasn’t had a home-cooked meal in years. He misses homemade food.

Valthoron had never lived amongst humans or dwarves or even city elves. Suddenly thrust into the midst of strange peoples, he found himself noticing many odd things that his new companions hardly batted an eye at. Having dinner provided for him without expecting him to hunt was the first thing that threw him for a loop. The food was different, too, consisting of more meat and bread than he was used to. The negative views of mages also startled him—his keeper and the keeper’s first were technically apostates, so he’d never seen mages in a negative light.
What he didn’t realize initially was that his new companions noticed similar oddities in him.

The icing on the cake was that Anduin had actually listened to Shaw, and he’d agreed to put out wanted posters and send the guards after her. She’d known Anduin for over a decade and yet he’d turned on her the moment someone spoke ill of her. The thought made her stomach turn.
