Summary
Jayce understands by this point, after over a decade of teaching, that the first class of the semester doesn’t mean much. Only a handful of his students bothered to show up not-visibly-hungover. It’s a class full of freshmen, no less. They shouldn’t even be drinking. They should definitely at least be looking at him while he goes through the syllabus and not face down at their desks or doodling in their notebooks. Half of them acted like he was setting them in front of a firing squad for assigning very simple homework on the first day.
It was just practice, so he could get a handle on what baseline of knowledge they were coming out of highschool with. Still, they all gave him these pleading looks like he’d forget about the whole teaching thing if they just looked pathetic enough.
That’s what he gets for fucking up his career enough to end up teaching at a party school.
Student/Teacher AU. It's 1999. Physics Professor Jayce secretly sort of hopes all the conspiracy theories are right, and the world will end in a couple months. A developing attraction to a student (not his student, to be fair) makes things a bit more complicated.
