There had been countless sacrifices, which helped break the cycle of hatred. They all helped him, saved him, walked with him, believed in him for the greater good.... for... for peace! A better future!
Naruto would have let out a bitter chuckle if he felt like he could breathe. Peace? Greater Good? A better Future?
WHAT A JOKE!!!
His future, his manifestation of greater good, his symbol of peace, konoha's golden child, his first born.... was lying there in a puddle of dirt, in a pool of his own blood. How did it come to this?

The akudama were still at large; gangs, mafia, random thugs... the works. Not to mention the foreign nations and crime syndicates, all hoping to profit off of the chaos in Kansai. The Executioners were still active as well, albeit relegated to acting as a secret police to the desperate government frantically trying to exert some semblance of control over things.
Izuku just learned that last part the hard way: by narrowly dodging a laser sai to the head.
