Summary
Finding your soulmate is supposed to be beautiful. You stand in front of someone and you say their full name; they say yours. Your soulmarks appear somewhere on your bodies, and it's supposed to be beautiful. Life-changing.
It's not supposed to happen a week before the World Juniors tournament in a dirty Saskatchewan parking lot. It's not supposed to be Canada's newest darling hockey player and your future rival who whispers your name. It's not supposed to be a boy that your skin blooms for.
And if that does happen, despite the fact that it shouldn't, you're definitely not supposed to lie to your soulmate's face, refuse to say his name in return, and pretend that you never felt your soulmark appear at all. And if that happens, somehow, you're definitely not supposed to kiss him less than a year later. And then later. And then later. And then later, until you realize you never want to leave his bed despite the fact that you've never told him the truth about the bear tattoo on your chest.
or, finding out that his soulmate is Shane Hollander isn't beautiful. Ilya can't pretend that it's not life-changing though.

Summary
Newly settled into Jackson City, you’re assigned to patrol duty with Joel Miller; a man of rough edges and a cold facade. What begins as forced proximity slowly shifts into something raw and all-consuming.
But as the past creeps forward through old wounds and the ever-present threat of the world outside Jackson's walls, your feelings for one another become both a sanctuary and a liability.
In a world already broken, where there is already so much to lose, can you let yourself love Joel Miller?

Summary
Your stomach turns as you watch the soldier steel himself, rifle raised.
“We’re not sick!” The civilian’s voice breaks, desperate. The shot goes off before you even think—aiming for the shoulder, but hitting the neck instead. The soldier’s rifle jerks, shots spraying wild. You fire again. This time, your bullet finds the back of his head.
Silence drops, heavy and suffocating, swallowing the echoes of gunfire.

You're just trying to make it through the end the world by yourself, but you keep running into the Millers.

Summary
You've been (somewhat) enjoying a drink with a young architect--cute, if a little boring--and trying to ignore the constant barrage of text messages you'd been receiving from the faceless creep you've come to think of as Bar Douche when an intimidating stranger named Joel interrupts.
Joel is by turns protective, crass, and completely over-the-top flirtatious, leaving you not quite sure how to respond to him and not quite sure where you stand. You give as good as you get, baring your teeth from time to time, but Joel just seems to enjoy your bite. Fighting his excessive, thick-laid come-ons and wandering hands is too easy at first, but grows progressively more difficult as his tendency to swoop in just in time results in the two of you spending more and more time together.
