Summary
The red string of fate has always been a stupid concept to Sam.
It’s a cliché, overdone idea that forces people into a box that tells them that this one person is the one you’ll have to love forever. Growing up, he didn’t even know if it was real, since it wasn’t like a metaphysical string that only you and your soulpartner can see was an elective course, so he’d gotten through most of his younger life without thinking about it too hard.
That doesn’t mean he doesn’t think about it at all.
The red string of fate is a strange, strange thing. It pairs you with the most unlikely of people, from different lives, ways, and experiences. Being paired with a skilled assassin is something else entirely.
