Summary
After joining the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, Arenvald rose quickly in the ranks, but he still couldn't quite manage to break that ceiling between the regular Scions and the Antecedent's inner circle of warriors. One of the warriors in particular irritates Arenvald to no end: Alphinaud Levellieur, a young noble two years younger than him and by all accounts about as strong as an overcooked noodle. When Arenvald tries to distract himself from his clouded mind, he finds himself fighting a Voidsent he cannot kill. As if sent by the Twelve, Alphinaud arrives and saves Arenvald from the unkillable monster.

The city gilded in gold was full of fire spinners, talented alchemists, and monks who preached as they fought in hand-to-hand combat. Surely, the young Au Ra would find nothing but marvels to bring back to his tribe in the Azim Steppe. A city so well-off couldn’t possibly have a dark underside of injustice to leave the young man disenchanted… right?

Summary
Huddled in a shabby inn room with nowhere else to go, the four friends ponder the tragic end of their Prefect days. Their reputation is tarnished, their funds are slim, and their promise to each other is all they have left. Hopefully that bond is strong enough to withstand the turmoil they'll soon face at the hands of Edgar's beloved uncle, the only man willing to extend an olive branch (even if it is rotten at its core) to society's rejects.
For tonight, they try to soothe the building panic in each of their minds so they can finally sleep.
**There's mentions and allusions of Druitt's actions throughout the manga, but there aren't spoilers past the end of the school arc.**
And yes, four men must share two small beds. It's a good thing they're best friends forever and totally not in love with each other.

When his fiance dies to save him and their best friend, all the Warrior of Light wants is to retire and live out the rest of his days with what's left of his friends. With half of the Scions missing, primals and Ascians more active than ever, and a Warrior of Darkness to worry about, stepping away from the blade could end in their deaths, anyway. Ishgard is the only place he feels remotely at peace anymore thanks to House Fortemps and Ser Aymeric, the closest thing he's had to a family in decades. He'll take on the world if it will keep them safe.
