Ms. Kiramman drew back, her expression hardening, eyes growing icy once more. “So this is your opinion of me,” she said coldly. “Thank you for explaining so fully. Perhaps these offenses might have been overlooked had not your pride been hurt by my honesty–”
Vi scoffed in disbelief. “My pride?”
“–in admitting scruples about our relationship,” Ms. Kiramman went on, her voice rising. “Could you expect me to rejoice in the inferiority of your circumstances?”
A laugh bubbled out of Vi’s throat, anger burning in her chest. “And those are the words of a lady?” She stepped closer to Ms. Kiramman, so close now their noses were almost touching. “From the first moment I met you,” she spat, “your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realize that you were the last woman in Runeterra I could ever be prevailed upon to marry! We are oil and water, Ms. Kiramman. We were never meant to be.”

Summary
