Summary
When everything had started all those many months ago Deep had told himself he was special, that Homelander picking him as a bed mate meant something. He’d known then—deep down, but too ashamed to acknowledge—that hadn’t been true at all. Could admit it now that things had shifted and his confidence had grown. At the start he had been nothing but an easy target, just an outlet for Homelander’s pleasure and narcissistic needs.
He now knew, however, with unwavering clarity that was not the case anymore. The shift had been slow, two steps forward and one step back the entire way. But they had made it here. To this moment where Homelander was falling part and he—Deep of all fucking people—was his anchor.

“Yes! For example, maybe, kind of-” She points to the book he was reading. “Maybe, in some way, it was legally questionable to like the person?” she shrugs.
“Oh my goodness, you like someone that it is illegal for you to like!?” Luca gasps again.
“NO! Not LITERALLY! I meant it as an EXAMPLE!”
“So, the person-”
“NEVERMIND!” She stomps away. “Should’ve never even THOUGHT about coming to you for your opinion!”
“Illegal to like . . .” He looks down at the law he was just reading. “Oh . . .” The boy felt his heart sink deep into the pits of his stomach.
Last year Alberto and Giulia had legally become siblings.
