Summary
Tadashi stills. He turns around and is face to face with the puppeteer who has bent down to be eye level with him. The emeralds shine as they stare into Tadashi’s soul.
Tadashi’s mouth dries. “I-I was sleeping last night,” he manages to mutter out.
The emeralds glow before settling. The puppeteer nods in what Tadashi thinks- hopes- is approval. “Very well.”
“You really are pathetic,” The boy behind him says to Tadashi.
Both Tadashi and the puppeteer turn to look at him. Tadashi’s jaw is dropped in shock. No one talks in front of the puppeteer like that!
“What is your name?” The puppeteer’s voice is masked by a thin layer of coolness.
The other boy merely laughs again. “Tsukishima. Tsukishima Kei. What is it to you?”
The puppeteer stands to its full height- tall enough that even Tsukishima has to crane his neck to look at it in the eyes. It takes a step towards Tsukishima. “Alibi?”
“How about this?” A wry smile spreads across Tsukishima’s face. “Eat shit and die.”
