Summary
Following the death of Lyonel Strong, King Viserys I names his daughter and heir Rhaenyra as his replacement—alienating himself further from his wife and his other children as he seeks to fortify her claim. In the interest of avoiding further trouble and easing her transition into power, Rhaenyra fosters her children with allied houses, only bringing her own eldest as a companion.
