She hadn’t meant to hook up with someone she didn’t even know, pressed up against the wall of a toilet cubicle in one of Seattle’s decent offering of queer clubs. Maybe it had been the recent breakup with Rachel, or maybe it was the fact that Max was mostly drunk and feeling less controlled by her usual inhibitions. Or maybe it was just the desire to feel hot in her short little black dress, and wanting to feel wanted for once.
Maybe that was why, when she’d locked eyes with a blue-haired punk on the middle of the dancefloor, decked out in a spiked collar, boots, ripped jeans and a generously loose tank top with ‘Transbian Dykes F*ck Better’ emblazoned across the front in a proud pink, white and blue, her brain had just gone “F*ck it.”
