He hadn’t thought of that in a long time. She had never invited Theo up with her, but she hadn’t ever made him leave either. Near the end—

    Theo swallowed, and forced himself to finish the thought. Near the end, Theo thought sometimes that she hated not being able to have her morning tea in the conservatory more than she hated being sick.
