Bowser has kidnapped Peach- you know the story. But while Mario goes around stomping goombas and kicking turtles on an epic adventure across the world and all it has to offer, how does Peach survive being a hostage of Bowser's domain? The lava moats and blackened trees are a far cry from the mushroom kingdom's lush plains and forests she's used to. And that's nothing to say of the king himself when he finally returns from commanding his army. How do you survive your evil monstrous kidnapper?
Bowser has everything he's ever wanted, but while being king can get you most things, it can't give you everything- and the one thing he wants most is the only thing he can't take by force. He lives in the nightmares of toads everywhere, he revels in the fear his reputation demands. But yet, a small part of him cringes when he sees it in Peach's eyes. Whether or not he's willing to admit it to himself, he needs a new strategy.Slow burn.

Something's not right with this place. Red can feel it. Perhaps he'd been feeling it this whole time. He knows it even- but every day starts the same, and although he knows he should be terrified at every new twist, at every new, strange and grotesque creature, at every new leaking, creeping stranger that enters this thing they all live in, at what new horrors will torture them today, there is only one option; to endure.
There's only so much to endure until there's nothing left to do the enduring.
