Izuku has nightmares, really bad ones, and goes to Katsuki for comfort. Mina has heard Izuku cry one too many times for Katsuki's actions and words, and makes the blonde face his feelings.
"Was it casual when you literally threw yourself in death's path just to save him?"
"What?"
"Was it casual when Izuku became the only person in this class that can touch you? We all see that you know. God forbid any of us try to touch you, we'll get blasted across the room, but Izuku? Yeah... We see it. Or how about this? Was it casual when you introduced yourself to a bunch of strangers under the nickname that Izuku gave to you when you were children? Y'know... the nickname you don't let anyone else call you but him?"
"Mina, what the fuck are you doing?"
"Forcing you to face reality, Bakugo. I can't watch you two dance around the weight of the situation you're both in anymore. If you keep doing this tango around the issue you're going to hurt him, and we both know you don't want that. So tell me, was it casual?"

Izuku steps towards the other teen, holding his hand out to shake, “I’m Midoriya Izuku by the way. We haven’t officially met yet, right? I don’t remember seeing you at the Entrance Exam?”
The blue-haired boy pauses, studies his hand uncertainly before shrugging. “Shirakumo Oboro,” he introduces in return, hand phasing right through Izuku’s when he goes to return the handshake. Shirakumo doesn’t seem surprised by it, but Izuku whips his hand back when the intense chill climbs up his arm.

Izuku tries to pretend eveything is okay even though his homelife is crumbling around him, there's an insanely powerful Quirk that's not entirely his coursing through his veins, he suddenly knows his childhood hero, All Might, and to top it all off, he seems to have befriend a pastel blue-haired ghost that has way too much insider knowledge on Izuku's new homeroom teacher, and English teacher. He's really just trying to survive Yuuei...

traditions and codes were not unfamiliar to the quirkless. especially when they finally had other physical options, rather than the clunky red high-tops.
it was just strange to see izuku's own homeroom teacher performing them.
or: izuku notices that aizawa performs the same little rituals that he does, and after so long, comes to a realization.
