His mother’s lips curled into a genuine smile “oh I like her, Coriolanus. She has something special, I could tell”
Coriolanus hummed in agreement, then followed with a word of contradiction “it seems she’ll be of more use to me before the games than during, though, if all she can do is sing”
“Don’t write her off just yet. A person is capable of the most unthinkable things, when driven to utter desperation. That which you’d never expect Lucy Gray capable of, might just be what will take you, and everyone else, by surprise in the end”
Perhaps his mother’s words carried some truth. Perhaps Lucy Gray was more than sweet tunes, blown kisses and addicting charisma.
He’d have to make something of her, and he could. He was a Snow after all.
