"You know I'm cursed?" Satoru's mouth replies before his brain can catch up, and then he snaps it shut, embarrassed to say something so stupid because, obviously, he's in a magic shop, and this man must be the proprietor—the witch Suguru had recommended.
He's not one of the polished pretty boys that usually catch Satoru's eye, the arm candy that looks good in tabloid headlines and online spreads, but even as the nausea settles, Satoru's heart keeps right on racing, heat sparking in his belly that has nothing to do with the curse on him and everything to do with honey-sweet eyes and the sharp line of the man's jaw.
"I've seen a Dizzy Spell once or twice," the guy says, answering the question Satoru can't remember asking. "This one is pretty nasty. Ex-girlfriend?"
"Boyfriend," Satoru is quick to correct, leaning in a little bit closer, looking the man up and down. "But we weren't dating."

“I was only visiting,” Yuuji sighs, cursing himself for lingering, and takes the cigarette out of his mouth and back into the pack. “The visit is now over.”
“But you didn’t meet me.”
“I wasn’t here to meet you.” Yuuji zips up his hoodie and takes a step back.
“Yes, you were,” The kid counters, tilting up his chin. “I’m Satoru.”
“I know,” Yuuji murmurs, hands fisted inside his pockets.
“And you’re Yuuji.”
“I surprisingly know that too.”
The kid pouts. “You’re nicer in my dreams.”

A pregnant pause and deafening silence filled the room with nothing more than the clamorous roar of his unsteady pulse. Nothing was said but Satoru wished for so much to be said.
"Because you were in need of my help," it's simple, candid. "Whenever I can help, I always will, Satoru."
It was nothing special, it wasn't because it was him, it was because he was just like everyone else to Yuji Itadori. There was nothing to be gained from it. No demands, no reasons.

"I've mourned for you longer than I had known you."
Gojo Satoru thought he'd be forgotten eventually if death decides to take him.
That's how the life of a sorcerer was supposed to work. No one would know when they would die or when they would last spend their time with their loved ones. People will grieve, they will heal, and they will continue living. He knows his students would cry, curse him for leaving, then grow into the sorcerers he always believed they could become.
The moment Satoru gets sealed, he expected darkness and pile of bones await him on the other side. Instead of such things, he found himself in a place he could recognize and at the same time, couldn't.
Everything changed, and everyone is gone.
Everyone except Itadori Yuuji, who is still alive, still young and wore unbearable grief like second skin, and still carrying the weight of a world Satoru had sworn his students would never have to bear alone.
