Jacaerys jolted awake at the thud of a footstep. Aemond held back a smile as he watched the boy open his bleary eyes, blinking a few times. The book on his lap fell to the floor as he righted his position on the armchair.
“Do you find your bed unsatisfactory that you resort to resting down here, nephew?”
Jace scoffed once he realized it was his uncle in front of him. He rearranged the blanket thrown over his lap, “Couldn’t sleep.”
Aemond could help his smile then, “Doesn’t seem to be the case.”
Jacaerys and Aemond finally had some time alone on Christmas Eve, away from their families.
