Wet hit his hand, chest tightening as he held the folded paper, throat thickly swallowing as another wet drop fell to his hand causing his entire body to stiffen. He couldn’t do this right now. His chest pounded in his ears, taking a shaky breath as he shoved the photo back into its place, slamming the wallet shut. His knuckles whitened, the grip on his wallet tightening as Roy maintained any sense of composure.
Roy jumped as a knock came at the door, mind suddenly panicking as it searched for clairvoyance.

The creak of leather echoed through the long, marble halls that led down an all too familiar place. The feeling was almost hollowing - memories laced with agnosing fear, loss and pain piercing his mind with each step that reverberated in his ears. He’d nearly stopped at the stairs in the courtyard, a sudden regret clasping tightly in his chest despite the near-five year’s it had been since he last stood in these halls. Yet here he was.
