Summary
The war is over. Voldemort is dead. Harry is supposed to be moving on.
Instead, he’s back at Hogwarts for an unofficial “Eighth Year” with a handful of fellow survivors, a tangled mess of unresolved trauma, and an annoying habit of constantly watching Draco Malfoy like he’s some unsolvable riddle.
Malfoy, for his part, is quiet and distant—on probation, barely speaking, and stubbornly trying to vanish into thin air without the help of magic. Naturally, Harry can’t leave it alone.
They’re not friends. Not really. At least, not until midnight conversations start happening more often. Not until Harry realizes Draco’s not just haunted—he’s hurting. And maybe Harry’s a little too invested in that. Maybe more than a little.
But healing isn’t linear, feelings are complicated, and Harry Potter has never done anything the easy way.
