Kara held strong, her friends, her family and everything else was about to stop existing. But she could not break down now she had a job. Protect her baby cousin, maybe in the future where she was safe she would be able to process all that but now she had a purpose;

or; Basically what would happen if you forced me (at gunpoint might i add) to write Supergirl using the bare minimum of what i know from the comics, some of the tv series that i stopped watching after the 3rd season, from the shipnets of other fanfics and my funky ideas that come from nowhere.
