How the story, the beginning goes. “You are the fairest in the land.”
Or maybe you have forgotten the beginning? “-Mirror, mirror on the wall,”
Whatever it is. “who is the most…”
The words have stayed the same. “-O thee, guided by the Dark Mirror,”
Unchanged. “Follow thy heart's desire”
For there was nothing to change. “and take the hand of the one reflected in the mirror.”
So why is it. “Flames that incinerate even the stars,”
That this start. “Ice that imprisons even time,”
This beginning. “The great tree that engulfs even the skies,”
Is so different? “Fear not the power of darkness.”
How could this one thing? “Now-demonstrate thy powers.”
This one little thing. “For me. For them. For you.”
Change so much? “We are all running out of time.”
Change how the whole story is meant to go? “No matter what,”
Maybe it's a good thing. “never let go of that hand.”
Or maybe it's a bad thing. “... Then don’t let go of my hand and I’ll never let go of yours.”
Whatever it is, it's only just begun.

Summary
It is said that the first wish the Jester ever granted was their own, but what this wish was is unknown to all but them.
The Jester loved to play with all, for though they were not born like we were, they were kind, in their own way.
One day, a young girl found the Jester. She did not care for a wish, but kept the Jester with her.
She had found a way to renew her time with the Jester, and so the Jester stayed, watching as this girl grew.
The Jester would ask the girl every day “What is your wish.” and the girl would say “I have none.”
But, as every day was, the Jester would ask the girl and this time the girl had a wish “I wish for you to be free.” She said to the Jester one day.
And so, the Jester would do as it had always done, they granted the wish, but what the girl didn’t know was that the Jester was not bound to this role, the Jester was ‘born’ for it, it was what the Jester wanted.
With what little power the Jester had left, they fled.
And that was the Jester last wish, the wish of a girl who would keep them locked in a gilded cage.
