Emily has lived a life that has never truly been hers and is in search of some freedom from her royal duties and some time alone, but that's all thrown out of the window once she gets assigned a personal guard who will more than likely never separate from her. Their hatred has no other choice but to evolve if they want to make it out of this alive.

Gloria had always been the common ground for them. The point of intersection where Barbie and Richie could maybe ‘agree,’ for lack of a better term. Where the two of them could entertain one another. Gloria will be home soon and we need to get groceries. Or Did you see Gloria’s new drawing, and isn’t it wonderful?
Things like that: small but still important. But now, with the way Richie had looked at Barbie, with the way he is speaking to her, with the way this feels like an entire confrontation, of sorts, over some jacket… Over Barbie’s jacket… Over Gloria wearing it… Everything seems different.
