He found her at the edge of herself.
She doesn’t know how she got here, only that he looks at her like she matters.
In a townhouse by the sea, where the stars always burn,
she begins to unravel. Slowly. Deliberately.
And maybe, for the first time…willingly.

    Summary

Feyre shows up to her second week at the Night Court critically ill, and against his better judgement, Rhys brings her to Velaris to care for her. Her recovery brings them closer together, and when he tells her about the mating bond—also against his better judgement—Feyre agrees to let him court her while she decides whether to accept it.

“Your home is… not what I expected.” This house was so different from Tamlin’s manor in Spring, with its stone floors and echoing hallways.

Rhys shrugged. “I like soft chairs and a warm fire, and to have a comfortable place to entertain my friends.”

“Do you even have friends?” He’d always been aloof Under the Mountain, pretending to prefer Amarantha’s company alone. But that had been a lie. What else about his persona there had been a facade?

“If I’d lived for five hundred years and hadn’t made any friends, I’d be doing something wrong, don’t you agree?”

Feyre hummed, lost in thought. For the first time, she considered that Rhys might have a vibrant life in the Night Court that he’d lost during Amarantha’s reign. That he had family and friends who had missed him. Maybe even a lover.

    Summary

I’d spent the last few months trying not to think of him. Trying not to see him in every shadow, every glint of amethyst. Trying not to feel abandoned after he’d left me mid-sentence on the balcony the morning after Amarantha died, and I never heard from him again. Not that I should expect any different—it was no secret that him and Tamlin hated each other, so they weren’t exactly wont to friendly visits. Still, I couldn’t shake the jokes we had shared, the sound of his laugh. The way his cheek dimpled when he grinned—

No, don’t, I scolded myself silently, shaking my imagination free of his perfect face. If I’m going to think of him, keep it to the friendship.

Months after the events of Under the Mountain, Feyre and Rhysand have kept each other at arm's length. On the day of her wedding, however, she surprises them both, throwing herself back into his orbit through sheer force. Though Rhysand is wary of letting her back in, a male can only do so much to fight the demands of the mating bond.

    Summary

    "Four months and six days.

That’s how long it had been since Agatha O’Hara had spoken to Rupert Campbell-Black after that damned kiss.

Four months, six days, and about twenty minutes. Taggie couldn’t read for shit, but she certainly had a knack for measurements."

In the wake of the silence that followed their kiss in the priory kitchen, Taggie moves on with her life- or at least, she tries to. She dates Seb, caters parties, picks up after Declan, and tells herself she and Rupert are perfectly capable of being just friends.

But letting go of the past is never as simple as it seems.

"And if you come to me
    When I've promised to commit
If you told me that you loved me
And asked me for a kiss
Well, I'd at least have to think about it"

    Summary

"That was Prime Minister Thatcher. Personally.”

    “What could she possibly need?”

If the rude interruption during his bath wasn’t enough to ruin his night, what Gerald shares with him next certainly is: “She wants to dine at Penscombe. In a week’s time.”

or, Rupert hires Taggie to cater a very important dinner for the PM. She needs plenty of time to prepare the menu and work with his staff — it just makes sense for her to stay the week at Penscombe. What could go wrong?
