Summary
For a lot of years, Christmas had not been a holiday that either Carson or Greta had looked forward to. Greta usually spent the day with Jo, which was always nice, akin to warm bread fresh out of the oven. Jo had always been her rock, her comfort.
As great as Jo was, though, nothing could ever mask the ever-present feeling of something missing for Greta. She hadn’t spent Christmas with her family for over ten years now, and as much as she’d like to say that it was better this way, the pit that gnawed its way through her stomach every December said otherwise.
That’s until Carson came along.
