“Well, everyone I know is here,” he murmured. “I couldn’t… just leave them.”
The man hummed softly, then he lifted his head to scan over the woods, a faint whistle came from his lips, before his gaze landed onto Will again.
“Maybe something here wanted you back.”

Oh, there you are, something deep inside Mike whispers. The butterflies in his stomach flutter helplessly, and warmth rushes to his whole face as Will freezes on the last step, his eyes meeting Mike’s own.
There you are, Mike thinks again to himself.
“Mike?” Will starts to say, but he never gets the chance to finish his sentence.

Summary
The thing is, Mike knows.
He’s known for the last eleven months, two weeks, and eighteen days. He’s known since it became impossible for Will to hide it, when the darkness almost killed him.
They just don’t talk about it. He doesn’t care that Will doesn’t like girls, or that he used to like some nameless boy a long time ago, back when they were kids, or somewhere in the blur of growing up.
But now, as the movie plays on and Bellamy leans closer to whisper something to Will, all Mike can do is think about it.
Or, after the end of the world, Mike Wheeler thinks he’s managed to go back to normal. Even if Eleven is gone. Even if Hawkins will never be the same.

Summary
Mike reaches for his glass, taking it with both hands. Murray’s smile becomes broader, his teeth glistening as he bobs his head slowly in an affirming manner.
“There you go, Wheeler! Woo!” Murray exclaims excitedly. He won.
Will, wide eyed, looks directly at Mike, who’s eyeing his drink.
“I mean- he’s not wrong, Will.” He’s returning the gaze, holding it. His voice is soft, it’s careful and suggestive. He wants Will to do this with him, Will apprehends.He gulps, his gaze still locked with Mike's, and without breaking it, he takes the glass that hangs offering, towards him.
He lets out a huff of air.
“Lets have some fun boys! Cheers!”
Murray is gleaming.
