Summary
It was summer which meant that their age gap was bigger than any other time of the year because Noel had just turned twenty-two and Liam was still only sixteen. They were lying in Noel’s tiny bed in their tiny stuffy room right in the middle of an unusually hot afternoon. Mam was at work, Paul was out, and they had nothing to do but hide from the sun, smoke and grind Noel’s records into holes trying to survive the heat and waiting for the dusk to come so they could go out and get pissed.
