Pei Ming winks at the waiter who catches it and goes red, while Feng Xin kicks him in earnest under the table.“What?” Pei Ming asks innocently. “Why are you kicking me? Are we in grade school again?”
“Stop harassing him,” Feng Xin says, shaking his head.
“Should I stare at him instead, hoping he gets the message?” Pei Ming asks in a saccharine voice and Feng Xin squawks. “Tell me, is that method effective?”
