“The one room will suit us perfectly,” Colin says with as much confidence as he can muster. He steps closer to Penelope, smiling at her as he hold as hand out for her to take, imploring her to play along with his eyes. “Don’t you agree, darling?”
For her part, Penelope looks a little stunned by the term of endearment, but she doesn’t miss a beat as she slips her hand into his.
“Yes. I believe it will, husband,” she replies.
