A green bath with a mortician window; a lady is facing away fom the viewer, naked except for a cloth slug low around her hips. Perhaps she'll enter the bath, perhaps she's just an attendant, preparing the room for a future bather.

    “How old are you?”
“What do you care?” is the hostile reply.
“Because I don’t remember agreeing to hire kids on the cleaning team.”
Peter Parker takes another bite of his sandwich and says, around a full mouth: “I’m just here for my community sentence.”
    “Huh,” Tony says. “Why?”
“I spray painted ‘superheroes should go fuck themselves’ on the side of this building. Got caught.”
“Better luck next time, then. Were you in my lab yesterday?”
“I was in several labs,” says the kid dismissively.
“Did you mess with my calculations?”
“I corrected them, if that’s what you mean. Today is my last day, and the thought of leaving them up like that, half-assed, gave me angina. So, yeah, sue me.”

After failing to save someone from a fire, Spider-Man hung up his suit. Now, three months later, a grumpy teen named Peter Parker stumbles into the Avengers’ lives.

Get off my lawn, or I'll turn the hose on you by Bergen
    55037737

A bit of a different take on May and Peter moving in with the Avengers and finding their way.

The first question is, does Tony Stark want Peter for his brain, or does he know about Spider-Man? The second question is, would it be a good or a bad thing if he knew about Spider-Man? Her kid is sad, and May always used to know how to fix it, but now he’s sad because his superpowers were not enough for him to save a human life, which is a very specific brand of sad that May has absolutely no experience with. Add it to the list of her current shortcomings. Tony Stark probably has experience with it, though. So even if this is just a way for Tony Stark to go through her to get to Peter… she might be able to make it work in Peter’s favor.

    “I am Groot.”

“Of course we’ll meet again,” Peter nodded and went into the ship, paying no mind to the certainty in Groot’s voice.

    He wished he did.

The Heist Of The Century by bludnoemoloko

The only thing this story is missing is the "Idiots in Love" tag. True to the style of guardians of the galaxy it takes complete crack and through the use of humour makes it seem perfectly reasonable.

Tony took a step back and ran into Peter. “Has your mother never told you that eavesdropping is bad, Quill?”

Peter snorted and dragged Tony into a bear hug that would make Drax proud. Tony inhaled, surprised, and froze in his arms. Peter then took a step back.

“She has,” he smiled broadly. “Though Yondu had a completely different opinion on the matter.”

Settling into a new home and getting to know a host of new roommates can be a minefield of misunderstandings. There are a lot of days when Phil Coulson feels like he's getting too old for this.

    Dubious Consent by NiennaNir
    1767022

There is nothing of dubious consent in this fic, atlthough past actions are discussed with regrets. The first half is a pre-dawn Steve-Coulson-Tony snark fest (I don’t remember why they live together or where they are: it doesn’t matter) and the second half is why I have it bookmarked: Coulson & JARVIS.

“I’m,” Phil drew in a steadying breath, letting it out in short stutters. “would you mind if I asked you something?”

“Not at all, Agent,” JARVIS replied.

“Have… have you ever told a lie?” there was a pause of only a beat.

“No, of course not,” JARVIS answered. Phil’s eyes widened in alarm

“Oh my god,” he whispered, his face draining of color. “you’re lying.”

“Peter,” May said, jabbing her index finger into the center of his chest. “Liv and I are getting married. That is the end of the story.”

“She is my archnemesis!” Peter said, throwing his hands up in the air.

“Well,” May said, turning away from him. “That’s just something you’ll both have to work on. I’m going to go do the laundry now.”

ARCHNEMESIS,” Peter shouted at her retreating back.

There’s a story here, but this much, you should already know: that there are two men sitting in Room 13 of the National Portrait Gallery. One of them is the most dangerous man in Europe. The other one’s James Bond.

Because it's just so happy. And twisted. And happy.

Note: as seen below, this story doesn't use traditional grammar (or formatting). And while normally one or the other would have me stop reading at the second paragraph, here the grammar and formatting used come together with the story told to make distinct style, a whole that is so much more than the sum of it's parts and that you can’t imagine a different way.

“I hope Miss Moneypenny was appropriately grateful,” says Bond, gauze on his cheek and a particularly filthy leer on his face, and Q frowns, says, “She made me a full English, if that’s what you mean?”

“I sincerely hope you are fucking with me,” says Bond, and Q lets his eyes turn wicked, but only for a second, says, “Effing with you, Bond? Oh, I wouldn’t dream of it.”
