He pulls up a stool and sits by this new person's bed side. The man has blood that's begun drying, caking his skin, the only part of him that's been cleaned is beneath and around his bandages. They wrap around his chest, arm, and the left side of his face. His left arm is amputated, and Grace guessed that it hadn’t been that way before his dive. The new person looks more tired than Ryland has ever seen anyone. His breathing is steady, and it seems like it’s been a while since it has been. He both feels so incredibly bad for this man, and is so very happy that he’s here.
Simon started shaking as he looked down at himself, covered with blood that was a mix of his and the oceans. He couldn’t tell whose was whose. The metallic smell began stinging, and he felt the tears pricking like needles in his eyes.
“There’s so much blood.” He choked out.
“I know, I’m here to help.”
“Simon”
“What?”
“Thats my name, Simon”
