    They were sitting on the kitchen floor. He was drenched from head to toe and her hands and face were covered in chili sauce. The rainwater on him wet her clothes and the sauce on her mouth stung his lips. A scene this heartbreaking shouldn’t look so battered, he thought, then chastised himself for having time to think. Their kiss brought a pain almost exceeding human capacity, but he managed to stay with it and allowed some strange kind of passion bloom in his heart. He desperately clung to the agonizing feeling even though it might swallow him whole. He must bear with it.
