“You don’t get it, Tae,” Jungkook cried out, his voice breaking on his next words. “I can’t go home if I’m anything less.”
An almost-irritated look passed over Taehyung’s features. “Even if you don’t meet their expectations of you, that doesn’t make you anything lesser. You’re invaluable, and nothing anyone else does or says will change that.”
Jungkook can’t remember a time when Taehyung’s spoken to him this sternly before. It kind of soothes him, knowing that Taehyung has such faith in what he says. It’s easy for Jungkook to believe it -- to want to believe it -- when it’s said with such conviction.

The first time Jungkook met Taehyung, he had been struck by the beauty that was Taehyung’s soul. The forest green glow radiated around him like a flame, pulling the younger in like a moth. His soul wasn’t bright or blinding, like their friend Hoseok’s… but it wasn’t matte and heavy like Jungkook’s. It moved with the sort of slowness that people usually associate with Old Souls, and it captivated Jungkook from the moment he laid eyes on it.
Apparently, it had captivated his soul, too.

Summary
Moving on is never easy. That's what they always tell you in the clinics and group therapy meetings. It's supposed to be nice to have others to talk to. When a loved one passes away, sometimes that's all you have: nice. Nothing is ever okay or good anymore. Just nice. Maybe that's why they think "moving on" is even possible. Maybe that's why they said it at his funeral.
Maybe that's why he said it.
