Firefly's mission in Penacony was not going to be an easy or painless one, she knew that going in. But her goal was clear, and her will, resolute. She would not let anything get in the way of discovering the truth of the Watchmaker's Legacy – and, she hoped, a discovery that could help change her fate, and make the dream she was promised finally come true.
So why…
…why did she have to feel so guilty about it? Why did the mere sight of that goofy, dorky, bat-wielding, trash-loving racoon of a girl make her smile so damn much, yet also make her feel so much pain? Why did they make her want to drop everything and rush to their side, to protect them, to be with them again…
And how the heck was she supposed to complete her mission, with all these conflicting emotions raging in her heart?
