“Did you know, spider, that you owe me a debt?”
Hornet frowned, letting out a sign of confusion. Maybe this was yet another piece of nonsense that existed for the sole purpose of provoking a reaction out of her, maybe it was something more – either was entirely possible. Sometimes, the only thing Hornet could predict about Lace was her utter unpredictability.
Was it worth indulging Lace and her theatrics? Hornet’s curiosity and sharp sense of duty nudged her forwards. She was not marble-hearted either, attentive to the best of her ability to those in need.
It was worth at least hearing what Lace had to say, she decided.
