It had seemed like a good idea at the time.
And yes, Wilbur knew how stupid that sounded, looking back at it now.
In his defence, it‘s not like he had meant to lose the group of traders he had been travelling with in the snow storm. But then, he hadn‘t really pondered the dangers that lurked beyond the strong castle walls. In fact, he hadn‘t thought about much at all, having been filled with only anger and the desperate, juvenile need to prove himself.

Prince!Wilbur runs away from home, so he can be a hero to make his dad proud.
Instead, he finds a weird kid in a cave that reminds him of his little brother...

Summary
When people die, they go to the void and rest there. Phil explains this to him, when Tommy asks where his parents are time and time again. We can’t see them anymore, not in the day, but at night we can see them as bright little lights in the sky. They become stars and they watch over us, so we don’t get hurt.
