Summary
A childhood friendship rekindles against all odds when recovering addict Frode runs into his old neighbour Terje, a recently divorced farrier. When their old friendship evolves into a volatile love-affair, Terje pressures Frode to keep their relationship a secret. Unwilling to come out to his conservative family, his ex-wife and his young children, Terje goes to extremes to ensure Frode's silence. But when Frode gets arrested on suspicion of a series of violent animal killings, he needs to choose between outing Terje by revealing his alibi, or standing trial for a series of crimes he did not commit.

Summary
An old guilt gets a new charge when Frode causes a mountaineering accident that leaves his younger half-brother gravely injured. Espen struggles with fear of losing his identity and his worth as he needs to put his study plans and his band on hold indefinitely. But while he manages to find hope in reconnecting with his distant brother throughout his rehabilitation, Frode loses himself in a downward spiral. Guilt, flashbacks and substance abuse drag him down while he fights to salvage Espen's future. Espen's best friend Daniel begins to challenge Frode's fatalistic outlook with understanding and compassion, but just as they're finding a way to help Frode deal with his trauma, a thoughtless action from Espen shakes the foundations of the relationship they've been trying to rebuild.
