Jon loosens his grip, trying in a feeble attempt to smooth down the wrinkles he’s made to Elias’ shirt. Jon can’t look at him, feeling the heat in his cheeks and happy that he doesn’t show a blush.
“Hurt you how, Jon?”
Elias’ tone conveys a professionalism, one he’s heard Elias use before. When donors are able to provide more than requested, or when there’s cake in the office. He tries to keep his managerial facade, but it can’t fully mask the enthusiasm. Jon hears that, and Jon just wishes he could unravel Elias fully.
But that isn’t why Jon’s here.
